The light was the hub of the electromagnetism, thus Desmond being able to "uncork" it. I think Howards ignorance and demands of a simplistic answer just arent reasonable. Its not Seinfeld, its not Stargate, or any of these shows, its built on Sci-Fi yes, but it had alot of religious influences, and the story itself was more about the Journey of Jack, and less about the island itself. Anyways, I understand those disappointed, but I felt it was a good ending to a great show!

He's almost like JD in that sense, except he has a great voice and can enunciate really well.
